This scheme was due to close at the end of March 2026 although will now remain open until the end of December to allow energy companies time to meet any target shortfalls and correct any rejected submissions. It may therefore be difficult to secure funding for new work. It is best to contact your energy supplier.

In March 2026 and will be replaced by the UK government’s Warm Homes Plan although in Wales it is only likely to provide interest free or low cost loans to make energy saving or carbon reduction improvements, details of which we still await.

The Welsh government’s NEST scheme has announced no changes and will now be the only scheme offering free improvements for households in receipt of income based benefits or low incomes. Eligibility is a little complicated so best to contact them directly on 0808 080 2244 or nestwales.org.uk

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme remains available to all and offers a grant of £7,500 towards the cost of installing a heat pump (air or ground source).
