After a considerable delay this grant scheme is now open. This scheme can provide a whole range of free improvement measures such as Solar Panels, Heat Pumps, Solid Wall Insulation, Heating Controls, Room in Roof Insulation, Modern Controlled Output Storage Heaters as well as the usual cavity wall and loft insulation. Generally in the past free energy-saving measures have only been available to households in receipt of income-based benefits. However, this scheme gives some flexibility to allow low income households access to these free measures to help reduce energy costs and stay warm.

There are two criteria you need to meet to be eligible for the free energy efficiency improvements under this Flex scheme:

Firstly, your household must have a total household gross income (before tax etc.) of less than £31,000.

Then, the property must be in the lowest performing Energy Performance Rating bands of D, E, F or G. If you do not have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) then it does not matter as we can get an installer to complete one.

But please note that even though you may be eligible it is still up to the energy company funding the scheme to confirm that an installation can go ahead.
